PANTHERS SIGN D PAUL BAIER TO ONE-YEAR AHL CONTRACT
Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has signed defenseman Paul Baier (BUY-uhr) to a one-year American Hockey League contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Baier, 25, enters his third professional season in 2010-11 after skating all of the 2009-10 campaign with the AHL’s Binghamton Senators. In 62 games with the B-Sens last season, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound blueliner scored two goals and added eight assists for 10 points along with 49 penalty minutes. He was named Binghamton’s AHL Man of the Year for his dedicated service to the community.
The Summit, New Jersey, native posted his best pro season in 2008-09 with the Portland Pirates, capturing career-highs in all offensive categories in goals (three), assists (eight), points (11), penalty minutes (67) and games played (62). He also appeared in three postseason contests for the Pirates. Originally a third-round pick (95th overall) of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Baier made his professional debut with Rochester at the close of the 2007-08 season, collecting four points (1+3) and five penalty minutes in nine games with the Amerks. In his pro career, Baier has amassed 25 points (6+19) and 121 penalty minutes in 133 AHL games with Rochester, Portland and Binghamton.
Prior to turning pro, Baier played four seasons (2004-08) at Brown University, where he compiled 28 points (5+23) in 125 career games for the Bears. weiterlesen

The Hershey Bears announced today that the club has signed defenseman Paul Baier to an AHL contract for the upcoming 2011-12 season. The announcement was made today by Bears President/GM Doug Yingst.
Baier, 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, played in 62 games last season for Rochester (AHL), scoring two goals and assisting on eight others. A native of Summit, N.J., Baier brings 198 games of AHL experience to Hershey this fall, totaling eight goals and 27 assists with Rochester, Portland and Binghamton.
Baier, 26, played collegiately at Brown University from 2004-08, playing in 125 games over four seasons. He was originally a third-round draft choice by Los Angeles in 2004

23.01.2012 - BEARS RECALL & RELEASE DEFENSEMAN PAUL BAIER
HERSHEY, Pa. – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that defenseman Paul Baier has been recalled from the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) and subsequently released to play in Italy. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Baier, 26, appeared in two games with HERSHEY this season, going scoreless with five penalty minutes. In 39 games with the Stingrays, Baier has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) and 40 penalty minutes.
The 6-4, 225-lb. native of Summit, NJ has appeared in a total of 200 career AHL games with Rochester, Binghamton, Portland and HERSHEY, totaling 35 points (8G, 27A). Prior to turning pro he completed four years at Brown University (ECAC), recording 28 points (5G, 23A) in 125 games.
Baier was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round (95th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed by the BEARS as a free agent on June 16, 2011.
