Lightning Re-Sign D Marc-Andre Bergeron
The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron to a two-year, one-way contract today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

“We are pleased to keep Marc-Andre in the organization,” Yzerman said. “He played particularly well for us during the playoffs and his passing skills, as well as his shot, make him a valuable contributor to our team. We look forward to having him at training camp.”

Bergeron, 5-foot-9, 198 pounds, appeared in 23 games with the Lightning last season. He was signed as a free agent on January 4 and assigned to the Norfolk Admirals of American Hockey League where he recorded two goals and eight points in 13 games. Bergeron was recalled to the Lightning on February 5 and spent the remainder of the season in Tampa Bay, recording two goals and eight points, including one game-winning goal. He recorded two assists in his Lightning debut on February 6 against St. Louis and became the third player in franchise history to score his first Lightning goal in overtime (Millar, Gagne) on February 12 versus Carolina. weiterlesen
