02.01.2007 - Spirit Hook Bass and Hotham in Trade; Corrente Goes to Ice Dogs
(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit hockey club added center Cody Bass and defenseman Andrew Hotham to the roster in a three way trade with the Mississauga Ice Dogs and Erie Otters.
Saginaw sent Spirit d-man Matt Corrente and a sixth round pick (2007) to the Ice Dogs for Bass and winger Jordan Skellett. Shortly thereafter, the Spirit traded Skellett, a third round pick (2009) and a fifth round pick (2009) to Erie for Hotham and a fourth round pick (2009).
"On behalf of the entire organization I would like to thank Matt and his family for their loyalty to the Saginaw Spirit," stated Spirit General Manager and Head Coach Bob Mancini, "Matt was an integral part of our team's rise to respectability. At this time I would also like to welcome Cody Bass and Andrew Hotham to our team. I am looking forward to their arrival in Saginaw."
Both Bass and Hotham are expected to be with the Spirit for Saturday's road game against the Plymouth Whalers.
Center Cody Bass was drafted by the NHL Ottawa Senators in the fourth round (95th overall) in 2005. The native of Guelph, Ontario was born on January 7th, 1987. Bass scored 5 goals, 10 assists, and 37 PIM in 21 games as captain of the Ice Dogs this season; 35 goals, 59 assists and 322 PIM in his four season career. Bass was invited to the 2007 World Juniors Team Canada Selection Camp.
Defenseman Andrew Hotham will join the Spirit as the team's third overager, born on August 29th, 1986. The native of Barrie, Ontario played his rookie season with the Barrie Colts before being traded to the Erie Otters in 2004. This season Hotham has notched 9 goals, 16 assists and 60 PIM; 19 goals, 66 assists and 342 PIM in his four season career. He was named team captain of the Otters following the trade of center Ryan O'Marra to the Spirit earlier this season. Andrew's brother Scott played one game for the Spirit in 2002 before heading to the Mississauga Ice Dogs; their father Greg played for the IHL Saginaw Gears in the late 1970's and spent seven seasons in the NHL.

30.11.2012 - Nailers Acquire Hotham from Cincinnati
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are excited to announce a trade, which will take effect immediately. Wheeling has acquired defenseman Andrew Hotham from the Cincinnati Cyclones, in exchange for future considerations.
"We are very excited to bring Andrew back to the Nailers, as he is a player that his teammates really enjoy, and he can make an immediate impact," said head coach Clark Donatelli. "He is a solid two-way defenseman, who can put lots of points on the board, while also helping to improve our special teams," he said.
Hotham, 26, returns to the Nailers, after making a significant impact on last season's team, posting 44 points in 52 games, while being named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, as well as the All-ECHL Second Team. Prior to turning pro, Andrew spent parts of five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, as well as four years at St. Mary's University in Halifax, NS. His most productive season of juniors came during the 2006-07 campaign, when he recorded 17 goals and 52 points in 59 games with the Erie Otters and Saginaw Spirit. The Barrie, ON native can frequently be found on the offensive side on the scoresheet, and had five points in 13 games with Cincinnati, prior to the trade.
"I am excited to return to Wheeling, where I really enjoyed myself last season, thanks to the great support from the fans," said Hotham. "It will be nice to see the guys, reunite on and off of the ice, while also helping the team succeed however I can," he said.
Andrew Hotham will not be in the lineup for Friday night's game in Elmira, but will join the squad next week, in preparation for two home games against the Florida Everblades on December 7th and 8th.
